LAUREN CHARNOW: Box Office Manager
Why Public Access Theatre?
Oracle’s mission statement resonates with me on a personal level. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a theatre company and have live performance shape my life. I think the lessons we learn from theatre and questions live performance can bring to light are incredibly important. The work Oracle is doing gets to the heart of difficult questions and starts conversation. Seeing and connecting with people in person is a rarity these days and theatre forms a community that goes beyond images on a screen. I am inspired every day working for Oracle and sharing theatre with others; often with those who are experiencing theatre for the first time. As Box Office Manager I hope to welcome people into a theatre experience that feels like home for everyone.
Lauren grew up in the North East performing with her parent’s musical theater company since the age of 3. She spent the early part of her life learning the ins and outs of running a small theatre company. During college she spent two years in New York City studying acting at Marymount Manhattan College and later discovered she preferred theatre management. In Chicago Lauren has been coaching circus at CircEsteem and performing with the Comedy Dance Collective. She is thrilled to be the Box Office Manager at Oracle and make the art form she loves so much accessible to all.
