PHILLIP LEWIS: Audience Concierge

Why Public Access Theatre?

I choose Public Access because as a black queer kid from the south side, I never had stories that I could connect with. Being a part of a company that not only works to provide quality shows that speak to individuals like me, but providing it in the most accessible way possible. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

He has worked with notable companies such as Five Eyes Project, Never Bird Theatre, Silent Theatre Company, and Young Chicago Authors to expand his awareness of innovative storytelling. As a new member of Chicago’s Deaf art organization, AKA Chicago D(art), Oracle is now his next chapter and brewing spot for new works and even more innovative and accessible storytelling.
