Oracle Productions is excited to welcome back San Francisco based Magician, Christian Cagigal for a special evening of live and cinematic magic. The program begins with Christian performing illusions from his hit show OBSCURA live, followed by refreshments and a screening of the film NOW AND AT THE HOUR.

NOW AND AT THE HOUR is the semi-autobiographical magical tale of what it was like for our magician to be raised by his father, a Vietnam veteran afflicted with PTSD and Schizophrenia, and how that pushed Cagigal into realms of magic, mystery and imagination. NOW AND AT THE HOUR weaves memory, mind reading, and theatre into an intimate and altogether uncanny magical experience. NOW AND AT THE HOUR is the documentary-performance film of the live show of the same name, directed by award winning filmmaker, H.P. Mendoza (I AM A GHOST, FRUIT FLY, COLMA: THE MUSICAL).

About Christian Cagigal

Christian Cagigal has been named one of “Ten Bay Area artists on their way to becoming icons,” by the SF Weekly and is a three time SF Bay Guardian winner of the “Best Magician” award. Cagigal has been an Artist in Residence at EXIT Theatre in San Francisco since 2006 and an Artist in Residence at Beyond the Mountain in Montréal since 2012.

Cagigal’s previous shows have played to sold out houses and extended runs, including THE 13 STEPS, the popular THE PANDORA EXPERIMENT, the long running OBSCURA which has been performed at Oracle Productions in 2013 and 2014, the secretive happenings of THE COLLECTION (a 13 night marathon of consecutive shows), and the critically acclaimed NOW AND AT THE HOUR whose final San Francisco performances took place at EXIT Theatre in the summer of 2014. The final performance of NOW AND AT THE HOUR took place on Sunday, November 23rd, 2014 at the Marigny Opera as part of the New Orleans Fringe Festival. About H.P. Mendoza

H.P. Mendoza is an award-winning filmmaker based in San Francisco, best known as the screenwriter and composer of COLMA: THE MUSICAL. Mendoza founded Ersatz Film with his partner Mark Del Lima in 2008 with his directorial debut, FRUIT FLY, winner of two Best Picture awards. His last film, I AM A GHOST, has garnered four Best Picture awards and placement in over a dozen Top 10 Lists. About Oracle B*Sides

Oracle B*Sides is an arts service initiative devoted to giving artists the opportunity to produce their work in Public Access Theatre. Groups of artists submit project proposals for consideration. Once accepted, Oracle provides space, production and fundraising mentorship, and technical resources at no cost to the visiting artists – on one condition: the piece is offered to the community for free through Public Access Theatre.

Oracle B*Sides was recently honored with 4 non-Equity Joseph Jefferson Award nominations for their 2013 production of PINK MILK, co-produced with White Elephant.
